The Requirements Traceability Matrix is a bi-directional matrix which helps in tracing down change in requirements. It is a core document and must be updated with the changing requirements as it is also used as a tool for decision making. It helps team understand the impact of introducing changing requirements on scope, time, schedule, budget etc. A main documented source of communication.
